Mobile Bloggers Unite!
Published by Rudy De Waele October 12th, 2005 in UncategorizedAllready announced on textually.org and The Mobile Technology Weblog but I haven’t seen anybody else writing about this -to me- really cool initiative:
Last week, Russel Buckley and Carlo Longino from Mobhappy have launched the Mobile Blogger Network intiative.
The idea is simple: unite the mobile bloggers to help each other build up traffic and (optionally) to generate advertising revenue for those that are interested.
Not everything is quite clear yet but the idea has been launched. I must say I have always been intrigued about the possibility of setting up an online contributors network so let’s get on with it! To me this sounds a more alive and adventurous initiative then most of the existing boring social networks. Besides mutual support and promotion I am positive we can expect probably more focused but diverse reading about mobile from such network.
Personally I’m not a big fan of blog-advertising but I thought this is a good reason to try Google AdSense and see how much money there is really involved.
Now the first initiative of the Mobile Blogger Network is The Carnival of the Mobilists. Based on The Carnival of the Capitalists idea. “Each week bloggers with a focus on mobile content or technology are encouraged to send what they feel is their best work to the blog that is hosting that week’s carnival.”
The first Carnival of the Mobilists will be hosted next Friday (14th October) at Mobhappy, so you should send your entries in today (go to The Carnival of the Mobilists page for all details)
This week I haven’t been writing so mobile focused but I’m definately gonna participate soon.
