I thought this an interesting topic to bring to the attention of Russell in relation the Mobile Blogger Network. Ok there are many female bloggers (for starters goto BlogHer) but apart from Xeni at BoingBoing and Emily Turrettini at textually.org I do not know many female bloggers writing on mobile.

How come? Have to investigate on this further later but as for now I just wanted to introduce you to one of those rare woman in mobile business today: Sabine Allaeys from Minifizz (and she’s Belgian ;-)

Sabine started a blog too but hasn’t been very active due to her latest interesting moves with MiniFizz.

During summer MiniFizz licensed their product line to imaHima, the Japanese interactive media company. ImaHima owns the Japan mobile and m-commerce rights to the wildly popular Harry Potter film series, and the fabulous HabboHotel, the interactive, online gaming and community platform for teens. In Japan only with HabboHotel only, they reached a targeted audience of 500,000 12-17 year olds in Japan via “immersive branding” and community interaction.

Now they just launched Minifizz Japan and want to cross-market the -mobile game for girls- with other products. I like the way they present the game and its characters:

“Cool, chic, and smart girls with the dual qualities of brains and drive– introducing the MiniFizz.

These cool neo-Tokyo girls are super-sharp and super-cool and super-successful– and they go through the same everyday life and everyday adventures and have the same everyday concerns that their real world audiences have.

Created and presented from the female point-of-view, the MiniFizz present young women with a refreshingly honest view into the lives that they lead, the concerns they have, and the new ways they are beginning to think in modern Japan.”

MiniFizz seems to have found their natural partners in Asia… China is opening its gates too to the girl power chic, check the Chinese Moja portal and their Absolute ZERO game. MiniFizz characters are now also available on T-Shirts, Stickers, Buttons & Magnets.

Stay tuned, Sabine (and partner François) are now working to transform the online internet and mobile platforms characters towards TV animation series… to follow!

  5. [...] Two weeks ago I posted an article on ‘Women in Mobile‘, introducing the work of Sabine Allaeys with MiniFizz and received so much positive feedback I decided to make it a regular topic. I decided to dig deeper into the subject and ask those women themselves what drives them into the mobile space. [...]

  6. [...] The world of mobile services finally opens up for girls in France… Sabine Allaeys launches a new part of her unique universe for Fashionable girls. I wrote about her and MiniFizz before here and here. I have always been a fan of Sabine’s attractive and original designs and the way she imagines and develops the MiniFizz community. It is as varied, multiple, complex and not stereotypical… in a word, she designs the perfect girls! They are young (14-24 years old), independant, active and of course very mobile. [...]
