CicadaIf you want to know what’s sparkling these days in the mobile & wireless market, you have to be at Cicada‘s for our 2nd CTIA gathering this time during CTIA Wireless 2006 in Los Angeles.

Caroline Lewko from the Wireless Industry Partnership will be your host that evening. Our Canadian mobilist is quite stoked about the venue – a really cool Art Deco restaurant, I love it! It’s about 12 blocks from the Convention Center and close to many of the CTIA hotels (according to the Manager – New Yorkers would walk it, LAers will take a cab!)

“From the 30-foot ceiling to the plush custom-designed bar and lounge, Cicada has combined 1920s Art Deco with contemporary design elements to create an extraordinary atmosphere.”

If you always wanted to mingle with the mobilist ones like Carlo Longino and Russell Buckley from MobHappy, Oliver Starr from MobileCrunch, Justin Oberman from MoPocket, and other fellows and fellines in a mix with mobile value chain players, fresh mobile startups, venture capitalists, journalists, etc., here’s your chance!

Send an email explaining a bit about yourself and your company to Caroline Lewko – caroline(at)wipconnector(dot)com – with “CTIA-Mobilist Reception” in the subject line.

Here are the details of the event:

  1. [...] This installment of the Carnival of the Mobilists (#41) is hosted by Justin Oberman at MoPocket and includes my ‘Mobile Learning Reading List’ (which has grown since its original posting and will likely grow some more in the coming days.) As always, Justin has provided a great lineup of posts and also reminds us that this is also a good time to register for the upcoming Mobilists event at CTIA. Visit Rudy’s blog for registration details. [...]

  2. [...] I wouldn’t type loads of email with that phone – there are other models for that, like the BlackBerry killer, but I could easily configure my regular email account and check my mails once in a while. I read Caroline launched the Wireless Industry Partnership and she informed me the 2nd CTIA Gathering of the Mobilists was fully booked for the 2nd time, great! Well, this is basically a sum-up of the apps I used the most upto now, there’s still lots to discover – oh that SIP Client – and Visual Radio, no stations avilable yet in Catalonia… but too much to mention in one post, so I will have to update you on more experiences I guess… So, what has this article to do with my title? Simply, it looks much more obvious that Nokia can add now easily more music features and storage to it’s phones than seeing Apple creating all those phone features to the iPod… [...]

  5. Rudy, any plans for a repeat at this years’ CTIA 2007, Orlando?

  6. [...] DAD SAYS LETS PARTY IN LA. Always the party social networking man (he is the CEO of a major insurance brokerage firm) my father feels obliged to tell you about the 2nd CTIA Gathering Of The Mobilists and urges those interested to RSVP and attend. “My son and other influential mobilists will be there,” he says, “it would be insane not to try and make it. The event will be held at Cicada Restaurant on Tuesday September 12, 2006 and invitations are limited. For more information visit the information source for the event at Rudy’s M-Trends. [...]
