If you’re an emerging European web / mobile start-up looking for early-stage funding and trade press, tech blogger and early-adopter attention you should definately register to attend the Plugg conference, organised by compatriot Robin Wauters on March 12 in Brussels . A selection of 20 start-ups with strong roots in Europe will be carefully picked by a jury of renowned industry professionals out of the submitted companies.
Plugg is a one-day conference with a clear focus on celebrating entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe and raising global awareness for those European start-ups in the Web / Mobile 2.0 field that stand out in the crop.
Last year I did a presentation on Mobile 2.0 at Plugg and I liked the conference a lot. It’s one of those conferences that you can’t miss if you’re working in technology in Europe. A lot of European talent is gathered there and Robin knows how to connect you to the many VC’s present, a great opportunity for start-ups and VC’s to connect. On a personal note, it’s always good to come back to Brussels and hook up with old pals in the many sympathetic bars in town
The Plugg program includes an impressive list of speakers – one by one visionaries and/or field experts from a variety of industries and all with ties to Europe. Speakers this year include Mike Butcher, Gerd Leonhard, Inma Martinez, Bart Decrem, Pat Phelan, Fred Destin, Lisa Sounio, Anil Hansjee amongst others.
Start-ups will have the opportunity to present themselves on stage in front of the entire audience and have a chance of winning the Plugg Start-Up of the Year Award 2009. Entering the rally is free of charge. Start-ups can register here (check criteria and jury member list for more info). Please note that the registration deadline is Wednesday 4 February at midnight CET.
Hope to see you there!
