A couple of days now before the mobile craze will hit Barcelona again, so here’s my annual list of side events and *places to be*: the events and networking cocktails – next to the classic big industry players mega parties – where I’m involved with or will be hanging around.

Mobile Sunday 2012
- The classic meet-up of mobile influencers before the Mobile World Congress.
The seventh annual Mobile Sunday – the now classic meet-up of mobile influencers, developers, investors and entrepreneurs will be taking place in Barcelona on the eve of this year’s Mobile World Congress at City Hall in the heart of Barcelona, near Plaça de Catalunya.
Mobile Sunday is the place where the stories that matter are launched the day before the conference starts. Mobile Sunday is also a unique chance for you to meet AppCircus organizers and winners and to meet the MobileMonday global chapter founders in one spot during the conference.

Mobile Premier Awards
The Mobile Premier Awards 2012 mark the end of the AppCircus year and brings together the winners of more than 30 countries worldwide. You will have a rare chance to meet developers from all over the world competing for the best app of the year. The competition is the largest open and global cross-platform app competition in the mobile industry, it provides the point of reference for the startup and developer community during Mobile World Congress.

This year, the event is taking place at Sala Apolo – a jewel of the classic dance hall design and only 5 minutes walking distance away from the Mobile World Congress premises.

After The Mobile Premier Awards – We aim to Party! … and you’re invited! Come celebrate with us (from 8.30pm till midnight) at the AppCircus party supported by Mozilla; in the Beautiful Sala Apolo, Barcelona – a jewel of classic dance hall design.

API Hackday Barcelona
API Hackday Barcelona brings developers together for an all-day coding fest focused on building apps and mashups with APIs. Developers of all experience levels can share ideas, collaborate on existing projects, start new ventures, and find out about great tools and powerful APIs.
Free admission, Free Food! Snacks, coffee, lunch, beer.
Hackers will also hear from some of the world’s top API-focused companies on tips, tricks, and tools for building the next big app. At the end of the day, teams and/or individuals get a chance to present their work to a panel of judges and win awesome prizes.

Just come with an open mind, be prepared to see friends old and new, talk nonsense, enjoy a drink or five and have yourself a good time. Oh, and leave the ties, the corporate personas and the sales spiel at the door please. The Swedish Beers crew will be on hand – Helen, Jenny, Gabriel, Shafiq, Cat, Sarah, Russell – and the friendliest bar staff in town are all waiting to welcome you.
