iPhone
Published by Rudy De Waele September 8th, 2005 in UncategorizedAt first I did not want to write about the ‘as ususal’ hyped
“iPod nano - iTunes Phone” Event where Steve Jobs announced the next steps of Apple in the Mobile Music area. I thought: “What else can I add to the 2.065 blogposts tagged on Technorati in the last 24 hours?” (And that only with the search tag “iphone” …)
I read an interview with the New York Times where Apple CEO Steve Jobs said he was very happy that details about the nano did not make their way onto the web before the device was introduced. It is half a miracle that Apple can keep his secrets inside in the internet media landscape of today. Thumbs up!
On the anouncement itself, I can be very brief: the iPod nano is the logical next step in Apple’s iPod product line, and yes the design is another WOAW! Apple design. Images can be found at iLounge.com

What Apple is doing with Motorola seems to me only an ‘appearance action’ to keep the attention away from the real thing:
- design-wise the ROKR E1 doesn’t match the Apple design standards.
- ok, iTunes on a cell phone, it’s the first time ever…
- users are not able to load the phone with music files over cellular networks, they must transfer songs from their computers… What’s the fuss with Cingular Wireless?
Why Apple doesn’t make iTunes available for ANY cell phone? Ever thought about?
I’m sure Steve is preparing something much better and more surprising to come…
